Launch of Better Lives Service in Islington
On the 9 October we celebrated the official launch of our new integrated Better Lives Service in Islington which will provide drug and alcohol services to Islington’s local community. Delivered by Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with WDP and Blenheim, the Service will provide a range of support to individuals and their families. This includes advice, assessment and treatment of drug and alcohol problems.
The event was attended by the Commissioners, representatives from the delivery services and the service users, and was formally opened by the Mayor of Islington who commended the efforts of all those involved in delivering the Service. Those who attended were offered a tour of the Service building which houses a new adult service and a family service that supports families, partners and friends in Islington who are affected by someone else’s substance misuse.
Sharon Daughter, Director of Services at Blenheim CDP said “The Better Lives Service is a really exciting new service for us, and the new home for the family service looks fabulous. We know how important the family service has been for the local community and Blenheim are looking forward to continuing developing this work alongside the new adult service.”
